National News – Roberto De Zerbi has insisted that Tottenham Hotspur are not yet relegated, urging players and fans to remain optimistic despite their precarious position.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s clash against Aston Villa, the Spurs manager rejected claims that survival in the Premier League is already beyond reach.

De Zerbi made the remarks on Friday during a pre-match press conference, addressing growing concerns over Tottenham’s struggles this season.

The North London club currently sits just two points away from safety after recording their first league victory of 2026 against Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend.

However, injuries to key players have complicated their survival push.

The Italian coach dismissed pessimistic narratives surrounding the club, stressing that negative thinking could derail their fight to remain in the top flight.

According to him, belief within the squad will be decisive in the final stretch of the season.

Tottenham will be without Xavi Simons and Dominic Solanke due to injuries, but De Zerbi expressed confidence in replacements such as Randal Kolo Muani, Mathys Tel, and Richarlison to step up.

He acknowledged the challenge of facing an in-form Aston Villa side but maintained that victory is achievable.

De Zerbi concluded that Tottenham must focus on their strengths and avoid distractions if they are to secure crucial points in the remaining matches.
