Ogun Appoints New Head of Service

National News – Dapo Abiodun has approved the appointment of Olanrewaju Iskeel Saka as the new Head of Service in Ogun State following the retirement of the former Head of Service, Kehinde Onasanya.

The announcement was made on Friday through a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi.

The appointment is expected to strengthen public service administration and improve policy coordination in the state.

Before his latest appointment, Saka served as the Permanent Secretary in the Bureau of Cabinet and Special Services.

He officially joined the Ogun State Public Service as a classroom teacher on Grade Level 08 on May 15, 1993, before transferring into the mainstream civil service in 2006 as a Senior Administrative Officer on Grade Level 09.

His rise through the ranks has been described as a reflection of dedication, competence, and years of public service experience.

Born on February 15, 1968, the newly appointed Head of Service is regarded as an experienced administrator with deep knowledge in policy implementation and government coordination.

He is also a member of respected professional institutions, including the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management.

In addition, he is a Fellow of the Institute of Policy Management Development.

The Ogun State Government stated that Saka’s appointment was based on his hard work, commitment to duty, and remarkable contributions to the growth of the state civil service.

Political observers believe the new appointment could help improve efficiency across ministries and government agencies in Ogun State as the administration continues to focus on governance and service delivery.
