National News – The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark, has warned that the party must not fail Nigerians as the country moves toward the 2027 general elections amid rising insecurity and economic hardship.

Speaking at the ADC National Executive Committee meeting in Abuja on Saturday, Mark said many Nigerians are increasingly frustrated by inflation, unemployment, and worsening living conditions.

He said citizens are now searching for a credible political alternative.

Mark lamented the rising insecurity across the country. He said communities have been displaced, farming activities disrupted, and economic productivity weakened due to safety challenges in many regions.

He urged all levels of government to prioritise security, economic recovery, and policies that directly improve citizens’ welfare.

The ADC chairman also called for unity within the party, warning against internal divisions that could weaken its chances in future elections.

He said personal ambition must not override collective interest. According to him, internal disputes from party primaries should be resolved through transparent mechanisms and dialogue.

Mark assured members that the party’s appeal committees would carefully review all complaints arising from primaries across states.

He said decisions would be taken fairly and in the interest of justice and unity.

He added that opposition politics must focus on offering solutions rather than exploiting the suffering of Nigerians for political gain.

According to him, the 2027 elections present a major opportunity for the ADC to position itself as a credible alternative platform built on unity, discipline, and institutional strength.
