National News – The Anambra State Government has cleared Governor Charles Soludo’s Security Adviser, Ken Emeakayi, of allegations of sexual misconduct raised by human rights lawyer and public commentator, Prof. Chidi Odinkalu.

The state government said its investigation found the claims to be false and misleading after a fact-finding committee reviewed evidence from all parties involved.

The controversy began after Odinkalu accused Emeakayi of maintaining an improper relationship with Mrs Mmasi Nwangwu, wife of detained native doctor Chukwudozie Nwangwu, popularly known as “Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki.”

The allegation sparked public debate over the handling of the native doctor’s prosecution and conviction in Anambra State.

In a statement issued by Governor Soludo’s media aide, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, the government disclosed that the investigative committee submitted its findings on May 11, 2026.

According to the report, the panel was chaired by the Anambra State Attorney-General, Tobechukwu Nweke (SAN), alongside senior officials from the Ministry of Justice.

The committee reportedly questioned Ken Emeakayi, Mrs Nwangwu, and legal representatives connected to the case.

The government stated that their testimonies were consistent and showed there was no personal or improper relationship between Emeakayi and Mrs Nwangwu.

Officials also claimed that several invitations were sent to Prof. Odinkalu through text messages and virtual meeting requests, asking him to provide evidence or identify his information sources.

However, the government said the professor failed to honour the invitations or submit supporting proof for his allegations.

Reacting to the findings, Odinkalu rejected the report and described it as an “amateur cover-up.”

He questioned the credibility of the inquiry, arguing that an official investigation should not be conducted through WhatsApp messages.

The professor maintained that he stood by his claims despite the government’s conclusions.
