National News – The African Democratic Congress House of Representatives aspirant for Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, Kingsley Chibuike Obiukwu, has pledged to liberate residents from hardship and underdevelopment ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Obiukwu made the promise during the presentation of his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to constituents across Anambra State over the weekend.
The ADC aspirant said his ambition was driven by the need to improve the lives of women, youths and vulnerable residents through empowerment programmes, education support and quality representation at the National Assembly.
According to him, the constituency has suffered years of neglect and deserves leadership focused on development and economic opportunities.
The event attracted more than 10,000 supporters, including women, youths and community leaders from the three local government areas within the constituency.
The gatherings took place at St Michael’s Catholic Church in Amakwa, Ozubulu, G-Meridian 59 Multi-purpose Event Centre in Obiofia, Nnewi North, and Salvation Army Church Field in Ebeh, Ukpor, Nnewi South.
While displaying the nomination forms to the crowd, Obiukwu said he decided to present the documents to the people first because they were the true owners of the mandate he seeks.
He assured supporters that his campaign would focus on human capital development, job creation and economic empowerment.
Speaking with journalists after the event, Obiukwu stressed that empowering women and youths would help reduce poverty and insecurity across the constituency.
He added that financial independence among young people would help reduce crime and encourage community growth.
The ADC chieftain also described youths as leaders of today, promising to create opportunities that would enable them to contribute meaningfully to society if elected in the 2027 elections.
