National News – The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Dr Samuel Ogbuku, has said ongoing reforms and digitisation initiatives within the agency will improve operational efficiency, transparency and service delivery across the Niger Delta region.
He made this known during a visit to the commission’s office in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, on Monday.
Ogbuku explained that the reforms are part of efforts by the current management to reposition the NDDC for better performance and faster project execution.
According to him, the digitisation programme is designed to modernise the commission’s operations, reduce delays and eliminate bureaucratic bottlenecks affecting service delivery.
He noted that the reforms would strengthen accountability and improve workflow processes within the commission.
The NDDC boss added that adopting digital systems would help the agency respond more effectively to the developmental needs of communities across the Niger Delta.
The managing director also stressed the importance of staff commitment in achieving the commission’s transformation goals.
He urged workers to embrace the ongoing reforms and maintain professionalism in carrying out their duties.
According to Ogbuku, cooperation from staff members remains critical to delivering sustainable development projects and improving the living standards of people in the oil-rich region.
He added that the management would continue to strengthen internal engagement to ensure smooth implementation of the reforms.
Also speaking, the Director of the NDDC Bayelsa Office, Mr Godknows Alamieyeseigha, expressed confidence in the reform process introduced by the commission’s leadership.
He assured management that workers in the state office would continue to provide quality service for the benefit of the region.
The statement containing Ogbuku’s remarks was issued on Monday by the Director of Corporate Affairs at the commission, Mrs Seledi Thompson-Wakama.
