National News – Ahmed Usman Ododo and Yahaya Bello have urged Nigerians to pray for and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the administration pushes ahead with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The call was made on Wednesday during the Eid-el-Kabir prayers held at the Okene Central praying ground in Kogi State.
Speaking after the prayers, Governor Ododo said Eid-el-Kabir symbolises sacrifice, peace, love, and compassion.
He encouraged residents of Kogi State to support the less privileged and continue praying for the country’s leaders for wisdom and direction.
According to him, security remains a major priority for his administration.
Ododo commended President Tinubu, security agencies, and residents of the state for their cooperation and intelligence-sharing efforts aimed at improving safety across Kogi.
He stressed that the government would continue working to maintain peace and stability in the state.
The governor also highlighted ongoing efforts to improve the image of Kogi State and attract investors.
He noted that the state is blessed with vast agricultural resources, minerals, tourism opportunities, and cultural heritage.
Ododo explained that projecting a positive image of the state would encourage development and boost investor confidence.
Former Governor Yahaya Bello also appealed to Nigerians to unite behind President Tinubu’s administration.
Bello described nation-building as a gradual process that requires patience, courage, and collective commitment from citizens.
He added that the Renewed Hope Agenda was already producing visible results and praised Governor Ododo for continuing development projects in Kogi State.
Bello urged residents to cooperate with both the state and federal governments to ensure continued progress.
Eid-el-Kabir, also known as Eid al-Adha, is celebrated by Muslims worldwide to honour Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah’s command.
The festival is marked by prayers, animal sacrifices, and acts of charity to the needy.
