National News – Former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has described Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as the ideal signing for Manchester United ahead of the new football season.

Evra made the statement during an interview with GOAL, where he stressed the need for United to strengthen their attack with a proven goal scorer.

Osimhen, currently playing for Galatasaray, has remained one of Europe’s most sought-after forwards despite several transfer rumours linking him with Premier League clubs.

The Nigerian international has enjoyed an impressive spell in Turkey, helping Galatasaray secure consecutive league titles with his consistent goals and strong performances.

Before his move to Turkey, the 27-year-old striker guided S.S.C. Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years, cementing his reputation as one of Europe’s elite forwards.

His success in Italy and Turkey has continued to attract attention from top clubs across Europe.

Speaking on who United should sign, Evra said the club urgently needs a reliable striker capable of delivering in major competitions.

He also noted that injuries and squad depth remain major concerns for the English club.

Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha also praised Osimhen’s qualities, describing him as a player with the character, experience and mentality needed to succeed at Old Trafford.

According to Saha, the Nigerian forward has consistently scored goals in every league he has played in and possesses the leadership qualities United currently lack.

Another former United defender, Rio Ferdinand, had previously urged the club to sign Osimhen before his move to Turkey.

Reports now suggest Galatasaray could demand around €150m for the striker if any club hopes to secure his services this summer.
