National News – Global sportswear brand Nike has partnered Nigerian artist Olaolu Akeredolu-Ale, popularly known as Slawn, to launch a special Super Eagles collection inspired by graffiti art and Nigerian street culture.
The collaboration was announced on Tuesday as part of Nike’s build-up activities ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The new Nigeria football collection features a special-edition jersey, hoodie, T-shirt and woven jackets designed with bold graffiti patterns, a customised Nike Swoosh and “NAIJA” branding.
The colourful designs combine Slawn’s creative urban style with the identity and energy of the Nigerian national football team.
According to Nike, the project is one of seven collaborations involving artists and brands connected to different national football teams ahead of the World Cup scheduled to hold in the United States, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
However, the Super Eagles will not participate in the tournament after failing to qualify for the competition.
Super Eagles stars Samuel Chukwueze and Tolu Arokodare featured in the unveiling campaign for the new collection alongside former Nigeria captain Jay-Jay Okocha and veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwo.
The campaign highlights Nigerian creativity, football passion and global fashion influence.
Earlier in 2026, Nike released another Super Eagles jersey and training kit currently being worn by the team at the Unity Cup in London.
The home kit features a light green design with darker green panels, while the away jersey comes in white with subtle green patterns around the sleeves and sides.
Nike’s partnership with the Nigeria Football Federation began in 2015 and was renewed in 2018 following the worldwide success of Nigeria’s iconic World Cup jersey.
Despite the popularity of the kits, many football fans remain disappointed after the Super Eagles missed two consecutive FIFA World Cups.
