National News – Veteran comedian and entrepreneur, Ali Baba has urged Nigerians to deliberately develop their talents into valuable assets capable of creating wealth and societal impact.
He made the call on Wednesday during the Life Guide Colloquium held in Lagos, where business leaders and professionals gathered to discuss leadership, influence and personal growth.
Speaking at the event, Ali Baba said talent alone is not enough for success, stressing that people must consistently improve their skills until they become recognised for commercial and social value.
According to him, influence grows when individuals intentionally nurture their potential and make themselves indispensable within society.
The comedian explained that many talented Nigerians fail to maximise opportunities because they stop at discovering their abilities without refining them.
He added that personal growth, discipline and visibility are necessary for anyone seeking relevance in today’s competitive environment.
Ali Baba also encouraged Nigerians to celebrate and support people who create opportunities for others.
He noted that recognising meaningful contributions motivates more citizens to invest in community development and nation building.
At the colloquium, brand strategist and leadership expert Jide Adeyemi presented his book titled Life Guide: Stories, Lessons and Insights to Empower Your Journey.
Adeyemi said Nigeria’s major challenge is not a shortage of capable leaders, but the lack of continuity and purposeful governance.
He criticised the practice of successive administrations abandoning existing projects to pursue personal agendas, saying the trend slows national development.
Adeyemi added that Nigeria remains filled with opportunities despite its challenges because many sectors still require innovation and creative solutions.
According to him, the colloquium was organised to help individuals gain clarity in leadership, business, faith and personal development.
He urged Nigerians to embrace integrity, intentional living and effective communication as tools for building a better society.
