National News – Nigerian socialite and nightlife entrepreneur Cubana Chief Priest, whose real name is Pascal Okechukwu, has stirred debate after alleging that the recent killings in Plateau State were deliberately timed to embarrass Nigeria’s president, Bola Tinubu, on his birthday.

The comment followed a deadly attack in the Angwan Rukuba community of Jos that left dozens of residents dead and intensified national concerns about insecurity.

The socialite made the claim on Tuesday via his Instagram story while reacting to disturbing videos circulating online after the attack.

According to him, the violent incident and the tragic images of victims have been difficult to erase from his mind, especially footage showing a grieving mother and her child.

Okechukwu questioned why violence continues to plague communities across the country and called for urgent action from security agencies.

He lamented the persistent loss of innocent lives and asked when Nigerians would finally experience lasting peace.

The businessman also criticised the security atmosphere surrounding the visit of the state governor, claiming that the level of protection used by the governor suggested fear rather than leadership.

He argued that leaders must demonstrate courage and a willingness to risk their lives to protect citizens during crises.

In his statement, Cubana Chief Priest suggested that the timing of the attack was suspicious.

He alleged that those responsible may have planned the incident specifically to coincide with President Tinubu’s birthday celebrations, thereby drawing negative attention to the administration.

Authorities confirmed that at least 28 people were killed in the attack.

The governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, described the killings as tragic and senseless during a broadcast to residents.

He assured the public that security agencies had been directed to track down the perpetrators and ensure they face justice.

The attack has renewed calls for stronger security measures across Nigeria, with many citizens urging the federal government and security forces to intensify efforts against armed groups responsible for violent attacks.

President Tinubu had earlier announced that his 74th birthday celebration would be low-key due to the country’s ongoing economic and security challenges.
