The appointment was announced on Wednesday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Enitan succeeds Didi Esther Walson-Jack, who is expected to retire from the Federal Civil Service after attaining the statutory retirement age of 60.

The Presidency described Enitan as the most senior Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service, noting that he has spent seven years and seven months at the Permanent Secretary level.

During his career, Enitan served at the Ministry of Police Affairs, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and the Office of the Vice President. He is currently the Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education.

The Presidency said his extensive institutional experience and knowledge of the operations of the Federal Civil Service would be valuable in his new role.

President Tinubu commended the outgoing Head of Service, Walson-Jack, for her service to the country and the reforms, innovations and other achievements recorded during her tenure.

The President also wished her a fulfilling post-service life and acknowledged her years of dedicated service to the nation.

Tinubu charged Enitan to consolidate ongoing reforms and innovations in the Civil Service while strengthening professionalism, efficiency and responsiveness across the public service.

He further urged the incoming HOCSF to build a Civil Service that is professional, merit-driven, accountable and innovative, with a strong focus on meeting the needs and aspirations of Nigerians and advancing the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Born on December 12, 1966, Enitan attended Ajibode Grammar School, Ibadan, and the College of Arts and Science, Ile-Ife.

He later proceeded to the University of Lagos, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Banking in 1988.

In 2015, he earned a Master of Science degree in Public Policy Analysis from Nasarawa State University, Lafia.
