National News – A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the remand of cryptocurrency entrepreneur, Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as Blord, at the Kuje Correctional Centre for 26 days over alleged impersonation and identity theft involving social media activist Martins Vincent Otse.
Blord, founder of the Blord Group, was arraigned on Wednesday on charges bordering on criminal conspiracy, impersonation, and unauthorised use of a public figure’s identity.
The case followed a petition filed by VeryDarkMan, who accused the businessman of using his name and image without consent to promote business ventures, including claims of a N500 million endorsement deal.
According to the activist, Blord allegedly printed billboards, flyers, and promotional materials using his image, and forged flight tickets claiming he would attend a product launch in Onitsha.
Blord pleaded not guilty to the charges after they were read in court. The presiding judge subsequently ordered his remand pending further hearing.
The case was adjourned to April 27, 2026, for continuation of proceedings.
VeryDarkMan, who shared updates on social media after the court session, said he followed law enforcement officials as Blord was transported to the correctional facility, insisting that the case was about criminal impersonation rather than online defamation.
He also warned against the unauthorised use of individuals’ identities for commercial purposes, noting that such actions could mislead the public and damage reputations.
Blord is expected to remain in custody until the next court hearing.
